Gracie (14-3-3) has been suspended from June 2, 2007 through May 30, 2008, and is fined $2,500, the maximum penalty by the CSAC. The 40-year-old member of the legendary fighting family has until July 13 to appeal the suspension to the CSAC.
Calls to Gracie's representatives were not immediately returned.Juice-jitsu?

Ow, had niet gezien dat het in de andere topic al stond. Oud nieuws dus. Voor mij in ieder geval een serieuze tegenvaller. En eerlijk gezegd ziet die er ook niet bijzonder gespierd uit in vergelijking met andere vechters in zijn gewichtsclasse (Hughes, GSP, Lindland) dus ik zou het ook totaal niet verwachten. ![]()

royce is nooit gespierd geweest, dat was net de reden waarom papa helio hem koos om BJJ te vertegenwoordigen in de eerste UFC's
maar het is wel triestig dat hij zich nu in dit stadium van zijn carriere moet vergrijpen aan die rommel

Nee, hij was nooit heel gespierd maar hij ziet er ook niet echt gespierd uit na zijn (vermoedelijke) roids. De meeste mannen die één a twee keer per week in de fitness wat gewichten op en neer tillen zijn gespierder dan Royce voor zijn gevecht met Sak.
Ik vrees ook dat Royce nu zal herinnerd worden voor UFC1-3 en voor zijn roids. Spijtig.

In the wake of Royce Gracie's (Pictures) positive test for steroids, the California State Athletic Commission released details Monday that the Brazilian mixed martial arts icon showed such elevated levels of Nandrolone, a common anabolic steroid, that it could not be registered by the testing lab.
According to the CSAC, a normal person could potentially produce 2 ng/mL of Nandrolone, while an athlete following "rigorous physical exercise" could have a level of 6 ng/mL.
Both "A" and "B" samples provided by Gracie, said the CSAC, "had a level of over 50 ng/mL and we were informed that the level itself was so elevated that it would not register on the laboratory's calibrator."
Gracie, currently on vacation in Spain, told Sherdog.com last week that he has never taken steroids, and that he would file for an appeal.
